Jakara — Felix San Martin
Aerial cinematography for a song written in response to the Los Angeles wildfires, framing the boundary between green and burned terrain.
Argentinian artist Felix San Martin was visiting Los Angeles for a performance. During his visit, fires consumed many neighbourhoods across the city, including Malibu. The song drew its inspiration from that, and DRONESURF produced all the aerial cinematography to portray the tension between the green and the burned — a metaphor for the consumption of the world.
Director of photography Raquel Gallego directed and filmed all the ground cinematography and produced the music video.

Engineering challenge
Burn-scar flying means airborne ash, degraded visibility, and equipment exposed to particulates that damage motors and sensors. Active fire zones also carry temporary flight restrictions, so the shoot had to be planned around where flight was legally available on the day.
